Angola has one of the most fascinating culture in Africa. In southern Angola, you would find the Mwila or Mumuhuila people.

Women from the Mwila tribe practice an unusual hair regimen where they cover there hair with cow dung a.k.a faeces or poop!!!!!!.

The women wear elaborate and unique hairstyles. The hairstyles that resemble dreadlocks aren’t for aesthetics.

Cow faeces for hair

The plaits are called nontombi and the number of nontombis on a woman’s head has a specific meaning

To achieve the nontombi, the Mwila women mix ochre or a red paste called oncula derived from crushed red stone.

They add dried cow dung, herbs, crushed tree bark and a mixture of oils to the red paste which is then applied to their hair to form the nontombi.

Their hair is then adorned with dried food, beads and cowries (real or plastics ones).

Basically, for these women, cow dung is used to style their hair and it serves as a hair fertilizer to grow their hair. I don’t know if this works but I find it quite irritating lol 😂 🤣.

There are a ton of unusual hair growth hacks however this method beats every single one I have ever heard of.
