How To Mix ‘n’ match ankara print..

WARNING!!!: At the end of this article, you may go back and forth with your tailor asking for a return of all the extra fabric you never collected for clothes sewn for you as far back as 1998. Hence, viewers discretion is adviced !!!

Creativity in fashion gets better by the day because people are no longer afraid to take risks. You know those leftover ankara fabric sitting pretty in your wardrobe, they are not entirely useless. Thanks to a new trend “mix and match ankara print” which involves sewing/combination of two or more ankara fabric.

The trick to perfectly mixing ankara prints is to find a balance between the fabric, in terms of colour or pattern. For example, a look at the picture below shows Fashion blogger, Aderonke Enoabasi in a two set ankara piece. The balance between the fabric used for the shirt and the fabric for the wide legged pants is the colour, red.

The next picture shows celebrity twin models “Dpipertwins” in mixed print ankara skirts. The balance between the fabric worn is the pattern.
